I don't care what you believe.  You are just someone who thinks that something as simple as the AT is noteworthy.  When blind people and little old ladies do it there is nothing special at all about your accomplishment to another hiker.
I don't know how much or care how much you do or don't hike.   However, if you find inspiration vicariously through a tj then you are just pathetic.  Carry on.

Well, you don't have a clue how much I hike. Nor is it any of your business.  But this is your rodeo so I will ride....I enjoy what Felix writes, as do most on this list.  If you took the time to read instead of spending your time wondering why folks ain't reading yours, you might understand.  If you read his Christmas Eve post you will see it has very little to do with hiking and everything to do with persaverence, the kindness of strangers and commitment.  Makes me feel good everytime I read it.  I have it saved on my computer and somedays when I am feeling like shit for some reason, I read it and it makes me feel better.  That is what literature does.

Now, in your earlier post you said your girl friend averaged 25 miles a day.  I don't believe you.  Not that she didn't hike the miles, that you have a girl friend.  If you really do have a girl frien, ask her to pull that corn cob out your ass.

Good Day sir....

Well Clyde I guess I was an ass then too.  I just think tj's make a great read for family.  However, that does not make it great literature.  Realistically it becomes redundant ie my feet hurt, I ate Ramen, it rained.  So, it is nothing new or exciting to people that actually hike.

Stop reading, put on a pack and do it yourself.  Or you can live vicariously through others.  Then  Clyde you can cyberhike like most people do here and on White Blaze.  Have a great life.

Live long and prosper

When you finished the AT in '07, were you an ass then, or did that come later?

My favorite AT book was written by a hiker who completed the trail in 1970.  My wife and I have literally worn out copies of it.  I’m sure we’d enjoy a retrospective posting of your trail journals.
