Indeed it is.

Just route the trail to follow the Blue Ridge Parkway and/or route it over
Mt. Mitchell and/or Grandfather Mountain.  But we'd miss too much of the
NC/TN border doing that.

Better to cut East somewhere S of Hot Springs and connect back in by the
Nantahalas.

Who's gunna miss Fontana Dam anyhow?

 

Oh, and it's also possible to trim the DIGEST when replying.
