And I've just heard my first Pine Warbler for the year, about 2 weeks
earlier than normal year. Wood Ducks have returned, saw a Phoebe on the
weekend. These are the first true signs of spring, along with the blooming
of Pussy Willows. --RD

Here in Upper East Tennessee, the blooming trees and bushes (bradford pears,
weeping fruits, fruits, forsythia, etc.) are all giving way to the green
leaves now. Our spring is half-way over. Lawns are well on their way to
second and third mowings. We're caught up on our precipitation, though. No
problem there. In snowy years, we're behind by now. anklebear
