Mine was expensive when I bought it in 1974 -- I think it was ~$25.

In 1998, it became my trail maintenance rucksack.... This past spring, after a tornado took out a swath of trail in a particularly vicious fashion, it took the ride once again, but busted one of the (leather) tabs that hold the leather/felt shoulders straps together. Not sure what I'm going to do -- I could repair it, but then, I'd surely entertain offers of... maybe $400?
