A 30mph wind is just a "breeze", literally and figuratively and that is in
Laramie where there are a few buildings to break up the wind pattersn.
Transport that about 2 hours west in the Great Basin and it really flies.

Our worst winds were during the ridge walk in the Scapegoat. So strong a
couple got knocked off their feet. Fortunately they were blowing westerly, but
when they subsided you'd lunge towards the cliff. Fun day and a great walk!
