We have some good news from the Pinedale Ranger District of the
Bridger-Teton National Forest. The Forest has approved a relocation that
will enhance the CDT between Little Sandy Lake and Pine Creek -- up the
East Sweetwater River (as in the original guidebook, see Map 19) instead
of following roads outside the forest (as in the Wyoming supplement).
This segment is slated for work this summer and should be available for
travel in 2008.

The District has also scheduled maintenance work this summer on the
trail between Gunsight Pass and Roaring Fork (Gros Ventre Segment 4,
supplement page 18). They are aware of hikers' concerns regarding
inadequate marking, especially at the upper trail junction. If you will
be traveling here this summer, your feedback would be appreciated. (The
supplement includes estimated GPS locations of 43 22.82 N, 109 51.04 W
for the upper junction, 43 22.118 N, 109 50.229 W for the Roaring Fork
Basin -- but these should be revised if field observations are available.)
