I agree with Terry.

The loop is exquisite in RMNP, but if you want flexibility, go to the Indian Peaks.  With the permit station at Monarch Lake it is very easy AND you get to be on some of the"official" CDT. As a bonus, if you have the time you are right next to RMNP if you want to do some day hiking as well.
