Re: the wolf discussion - it's NOT all superstition and old-country wives tales. 
Along the Dalton Highway there have actually been some wolf attacks (but not 
fatalities) on humans.  
 
The attacks have invariably been due to food habituation of the animals by those 
who are ignorant or uncaring about the consequences.  The attacks are usually 
fatal - to the wolves.  Don't let either pro-wolf sentimentality or fear of wolves 
interfere with common sense.  
 
It's a lot more complicated issue than the recent discussion allowed for.
