Hi Stumpknocker,

I didn't carry any of the Trails Illustrated maps on the CDT, and personally I got by fine. I DID have a mapping GPS which was very handy if I wanted to hike off the Ley maps or anytime I wanted to find out exactly where I was. I also carried the DeLorme map pages that covered the CDT. That combo worked well for me.
