The official CDT does not go down to the access road to where the box is where
water is cached. On the way down the canyon there is one marker, and I think at
this point the trail veers left and follows the base of the hills. It then
eventually crosses the road where you came in to get to the monument.

We just hiked that section (start date: April 24) but we walked on the road
from the water cache, then picked up the marked route further down on a second
jeep road that angled to 81.
