I swapped out a 30lb Golite to a 40lb GGear pack when I reached Colorado SOBO (Latitude pack I think). It was very comfortable for the 40-50lb loads I always seemed to get on my way out of the towns! The Golite is great but my shoulders ache when the load creeps over 30lb (ofcourse it's not designed for this!). Actually I used the same pack on the PCT last year.
Weigh your kit then add on the food and water.....I would be surprised if it's under 35lb's. (especially when youve upgraded to a warmer tent, bag and jacket Also you may need to carry a load of water on some sections....maybe 4 or 5 litres.
With all this in mind you can see I am no ultralight hiker!

Good luck out there!
