[Cdt-l] Sawyer water filter

I used a Sawyer filter for most of the way on the PCT in '07 and I loved it. My setup was a 2L MSR dromedary bag for the "dirty" water with the Sawyer filter placed in line using two very short pieces of tubing - a small piece of tubing coming off the screw-on cap to the dirty water bag - the filter - and then a small piece of tubing coming off the filtered water side of the filter. I would fill the 2L bag and then filter directly into my water bottles. Gravity feed works, but I found gently squeezing the bag works even better and speeds up the process. This system worked great for me and is what I will be using this year on my CDT thru-hike. One other thing, I had a shut-off valve I used on the output side tubing when I needed to carry a full 2L of dirty water for filtering later. By using the valve, I was able to keep everything "ready to go" when the time came to filter again.
