1) The trail goes right through Grants.  Although the town is pretty spread
out, and has little charm, you can find pretty much anything you need, and
it has easy access to the city.

2) In case you didn't know: There is good public transit access to Lordsburg
and Deming via Greyhound and Amtrak.  Ditto on little charm.

3) From Grants, it is approx 115 miles north the Cuba.  I don't know of any
public transit to Cuba.

Very little traffic of late.

Question for you - what is the CDT mileage from from Cuba to Grants and how
close to Grants does the trail actually get? Grants seems to be the first
place south of Cumbres Pass with any public transportation.
