Water report J. Ley nm19
Water in creeklet near junction of FR153 and FS501
Gooseberry spring running at 3 liters per minute
Patches of snow from gooseberry to summit Mt Taylor
Note: The forest service is trying to mislead CDT'ers into going around the summit of Mt Taylor.
When you finally pop out onto FR153 there are two brand new signs. Turn right up trail #77 Goosberry trail and follow J. Ley from there.
If you follow the CDT markers from the signs you will miss the summit.
Supposedly they did this to protect the summit which is sacred to the Acoma indians... Then why put a trail register with a steel likeness of Bart Simpson on top?
Anyhow, don't pass up the summit! It is wayy cool!
