Hi Ed,

I certainly hope that it is not the case that ranchers are being snubbed on
CDT-L. I am born an raised in a ranching state (MT) and I personally know
many many wonderful people in the ranching community.

I am planning a 2011 Thru-hike and have read many hikers' online trail
journals. It seems that everyone who has hiked the CDT has had wonderful
experiences meeting ranchers and other members of the communities that line
the trail, especially in New Mexico.

You should be able to sign yourself up for the CDT-L mailing list. Just go
here: http://backcountry.net/mailman/listinfo/cdt-l and follow the
directions. Once you are signed up, the CDT-L posts should go to your email
and you should be able to post to the list by sending emails to:
cdt-l at backcountry.net

Thank you very much for your support of the trail. I think I can speak for
all of us when I say we appreciate it very much. I hope this helps and maybe
I will get to meet you in May.
