As Iceaxe stated, I found a good strategy for SoBo is to camp at the edge of
Yellowstone
and do the dayhike to the backcountry office. The backcountry ranger office was
really
easy to work with and I was able to get a permit that fit my own personal pace
and schedule
quite well.
The one ranger I saw in the backcountry adjusted Tradja and Jess' permit so we
could all camp together.
Overall, my experience in Yellowstone was quite positive.
