[Cdt-l] East Glacier to Chief Mtn Customs transportation?

You could take the shuttle and camp at Elizabeth Lake which is about 9 miles
in from Chief Mtn.  The first 6.5 miles from Chief Mtn is mostly downhill
and a easy hike.  From Elizabeth Lake it's about 16 miles to the highway
east of Many Glacier.  (18.5 to the lodge)

How to get from East Glacier to Chief Mtn customs? The earliest shuttle
connection drops you at Chief Mtn customs at 1:45 pm, which is a little late
to get started for us. Any trail angels, or other modes of transportation?
Hitching? Suggestions welcome.
