[Cdt-l] when axe no longer needed headed north

Headed north on cdt at what point given this years conditions... how far north are axes carried?
I am thinking of starting nobo somewhere in Colorado. I would like to start just past the point where axe is needed and snow is prevalent.
will start June 3-7th sometime
If i started I -70 axe needed?
