These bootheel cache box's seem crucial for anyone planning Crazy Cook rt. I have Ley's 2010 maps which show nothing of them. Then I got the CDTA mapbook and was astonished to see them marked. I think they're relatively new constructs? So I was curious if Ley 2012 maps are updated showing the box's? In general- curious to know how updated the maps are from 2010 to 2012? To repurchase/donate or not for 2013 hike?
It would seem that if folks knew of them this route might feel more practical other than getting there.
I'm all for this route geographically closest to the divide. To bad we can't get into the Animas mtns. Should be visible though. Was this ever an option in the distant past?
I also found spirit eagles maps and water notes to be helpful getting out of the bootheel. Thanks!
