[Cdt-l] Section Hike Wyoming 2013

For this year I would like to start my CDT hike. Since I have to be in 
Salt Lake City early October, I thought Wyoming, i.e. Yellow Stone NP 
would be the closest option. Colorado would be another possibility. I am 
planning to do a 4 to 6 week section hike. 
I do know the AT and PCT and wonder how the daily milage compares with 
these trails. 
Also what is the weather and snow situation in September into beginning of 
October? 
Should I rather walk Southbound or Northbound?
