[Cdt-l] the status of hitching in montana

currently writing this on trail from Darby. apparently the recent rainbow
gathering (and the supposed trash left behind) in jackson has gotten small
town locals pretty bummed on stinky people walking around with backpacks.
so if you are a younger/bearded/dirty hiker (like myself) and rides aren't
coming easy (the guy that picked me up from lost trail pass last night
claimed he saw "about 20" other hitchhikers while driving on hwy 43) or
people are giving you the stink eye.. thats probably why. just figured i'd
give a heads up. still! once you actually talk to anyone they are
incredibly kind and  the anaconda-pintler wilderness was amazing! not sure
where the bulk of the SOBO pack is. i walked the cut-off.
