In late April hiking between Membres and the Gila I ran into 8- 10 inches of
snow. My that was a great trail!

Bring something for shelter. The hikers a day ahead of us ran into falling
snow in the Gila. We had all day rain up in the Malpais and a huge dust
storm south of Cuba. There was still snow on the ground in San Pedro Parks.
Other than that, on our NOBO hike we almost always cowboy camped. in NM.
SOBO was a different story.
