Just to be sure we are on the same page, the Spring Creek I was referring to is the one on 149 between Creede and Lake City. There is no parking overnight there. I did, however,  drive just a few hundred yards past there and park and camp at cattle pens on the opposite side of the road.  I  don't think you could leave a car there long term though.

Lots of Spring Creeks in Colorado so I suspect that is part of the
confusion.
There is a campground and parking area at Spring Creek Pass.
South Fork is your best bet for a hotel between Wolf Creek and Spring Creek
Pass.
I've used the National Geo Weminuche map several times. Works fine although
not the same level of detail as 1:24K scale maps.
