There is a lot of water from snow melt on the mountains north of Carson Saddle. Also, about half way to Spring creek pass is where there is a Yurt above a meadow (8 miles northbound from Carson). The meadow below the Yurt is awash with water. Lots of water on this section. Lots of water all the way to Salido. I?m thinking of hiking the pct next year as my first thru hike, and I?m wondering if you all think I would be up for it. It would mean a lot to me personally to hike it (brother lives on the trail and a friend died hiking in glacier a few years ago), and if I only get to do one thru hike in my life, this is the one I?d love to do. My experience: longest backpacking trip I?ve been on is only 5 days, but I?m an avid outdoors person ? spend most of my weekends outside cowboy camping and fly fishing. I have good outdoors skills, above average (but most likely below pct average) map reading skills, and am very laid back/flexible. I?d also like to finish the trip in 5 months.
