[Cdt-l] newcomer to the list

hi everybody
happy to see that the list is still alive, for i'm no fb man.
I hiked the PCT last year and I am now planning to hike the CDT next year in 2018. No thru but only chunk-hike. 
I intend to start fm CC mid-May 2018 to avoid the snow in southCO (if possible) and hike until Rawlins. 
Could it be possible to start at the end of May ? Or is it too late : too hot, too dry ?

I am a french hiker from Brittany (western part of France)
