As far as I know they plan on allowing hikers to stay, however when we left last Sunday the water wasn't turned on. Their phone number is written on a chalk board on the porch.</div>

<div>NO water at the electric pump opposite mailbox 254. Water from a faucet at the Thomas Ranch mile 16. Water at Woods Windmill #2. From there we took the Sand Canyon route. NO water at Woods #1. Water at the Sand Canyon windmill near the junction of Sand and Cebola Canyons. Water at the Windmill near the junction of NM 117 and BLM 2003. From there we didn't find water until 3 miles after the Zuni- Acoma Trail (aka Escalante Trail) 3 miles past NM 53 in Bonita Canyon from a windmill on the right. Neither the electric well (mile 18) or the windmill at mile 15.9 had water. As a matter of fact there was NO windmill. However, 1 mile past the non-windmill (again heading north) there was a two-tiered earthen tank with a culvert in the middle with good water. This can be easily seen walking north. For southbounders the ponds aren't apparent. I put up a small cairn on the dirt road bearing left. Whether it's there when you pass is anyone's guess. Without checking the spring in the lava near the junction of FS 447 and FS 46 this was the last water we found before Grants.</div>
