color:#1F497D'>Eric, the “CDT Ranger” with BLM in Las Cruces tells me that the
Crazy Cook route is now marked with metal signs (within sight of one another)
all the way from Crazy Cook up, through Lordsburg, to the Gila NF border. Much
of the Gila NF section from Silver City south is already marked and Ranger Dave
Warnack in Silver City told me that the final SW corner of the Gila CDT will be
marked by the time hikers come through in April. So, Crazy Cook to Silver City
looks good, as far as trail markings go.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

northbound this year too. We live in Scotland and are flying into Denver on
April 13th and aim to start around April 20th from either crazy cook or
columbus NM. We haven't sorted out how we will get there yet!<o:p></o:p></p>

early as the last thru-hike we did was the PCT in '98 so we aim to work
ourselves in gently this time (we did 300 miles of the CDT in 2004 in

towards crazy cook as initial navigation should be easier with some
trail marking now in place and its a little shorter I think. <o:p></o:p></p>
