My old <BR>cell was over 6 years old and dieing. I figure that there'll either be <BR>service in the towns or there will be WiFi that I can use to send emails <BR>of journals. Plus, this lets me combine two devices (pocketmail for <BR>email composition and cell phone in one and
save about 8 oz. pack <BR>weight----enough to offset the weight of the GPS I added for the CDT).<BR><BR>I haven't written much lately as I've been busy with a detailed hike <BR>plan. I plan on starting out around April 26 or 27 from Crazy Cook and <BR>hiking nobo. I'll be taking the lower Gila (if it's not in flood, else <BR>the "official" route), the San Juan route, the official route over Gray <BR>and Torreys Peaks, Henry's Lake and Butte. From the point of view of <BR>my chair I want to stay on the trail as long as I can, take in all it <BR>has to offer, and still make Canada in late Sept. On paper it looks OK, <BR>but we'll see whether I yield to the temptation of shorter routes <BR>later. Once I get on the ground, it's likely I'll diverge from the plan.<BR><BR>Spent a few hours this afternoon at a hike presentation by The Gimp near <BR>Cleveland. He completed the CDT and his triple crown in 09. Got some
