When we thruhiked in 1999 we finished on November 30. We spent Thanksgiving in Deming - ate turkey at Dennys. There was another couple that passed through town the next morning. End of November isn't that rare. I had actually hoped to spend my birthday on the trail, but we finished two weeks early.<BR>

<DIV>well, the last hikers of the year left our place today for el paso and points east and west - snorkel and frogs are a great couple and I wish them the best - if you can believe this or not there is actually one straggler left on the trail - he was sighted in grants about a week ago heading sobo - "ned" - we are closed for the season until next april</DIV>
