In 2002 we talked to several ranchers who were very
friendly. We asked one about the "No Trespassing" signs. He told us that was the
approved way of marking the land behind the fence as No Trespassing. None of the
land behind the fence was fenced. The public road was not subject to the No
Trespassing sign. Hope this makes sense.

I'm not quite sure where you're talking about but we passed
through a gate on a dirt county road. It was a large hunting
reserve. We walked softly on the county rd and got approached by the guy
in a pick up truck that was father of the owner of the property. He
recognized us as hikers and offered water when we reached his house. I
went in, got the water and had some juice as we talked a little about the
trail. I'm not even sure if the same ranch is there, but their main
concern at the time was from hunters and poachers.

We passed through on
another gated road with some added stealth bush whacking and never met
anyone. It's fun, give it a shot, just try not to get shot
at. ; )

Sly

On 2/11/2011 3:04 PM, nathanael lintner wrote:

2011. I am studying the 2010 Ley maps and I noticed that in two places on
map Columbus04 there are notes (notes 2 and 6) saying that there are "Locked
gates and No Trespassing signs." I was wondering, are these legitimate "No
Tresspassing" signs? One of them (note 6) looks like it in the National
Forest. Has anyone hiked that way? Are the signs still there? What did you
do?

Nathanael Lintner

<FIELDSET class=mimeAttachmentHeader></FIELDSET>
