<div>Hikers in Steamboat!!! Wow, maybe I'll see ya sometime around! I landed in Steamboat yesterday, 1/2 day early as I didn't realize the lengthy road walk headng north to Rabbit Ears's Pass. Fortunately for me HWY 14 was not busy at all and I am a master of reading and walking. Anyways, yup, I expected this state to have one more harrah with us hikers before letting us cross over into the next "state of mind." I kept my gaiters knowing it wouldn't come easy. I'll be heading thru on the trail, unless I find a forest rd to bail to for a moment. I figure I've made it this far, I can handle a bit more through the heavy snow. Having the GPS with waypoints has been very helpful in the thick forested impossibly heavy snow spots.</div>

<div>Cool, well maybe I'll run into you or some other thrus in Wyoming. I haven't seen anyone since Salida so it would be fun to see some others.</div>

When I got to Steamboat, another hiker was in the room next to me having found similar snow pack heading S from Battle Pass. He did report the road from Encampment to Battle Pass was open.<br>
