<span id="goog_1606994784"></span><span id="goog_1606994785"></span>I just spent the weekend at Upper Seymour Lake. I started at Lower Seymour Lake, and it was a great hike. If you want to start out with a slower first day, there's a beautiful spot to spend the night near the tiny lake WNW of Upper Seymour Lake. Stay on the CDT SOBO past the last crossing of Seymour Creek and past the shores of Upper Seymour Lake. It's another mile or so of climbing uphill, but then at about 8600 ft elevation you'll see the small lake to the WSW as you cross a scree field. There's a beautiful natural lawn there that's right next to the small lake. It's flat and soft, and the glaciers around it are melting now, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the small waterfall their runoff makes. You'll have to do about a half-mile of bush-whacking to get there, but it's easy terrain to cross.<br>

I'd still recommend some strong DEET though. <br>I'd hoped to make it a four-day trip, myself, and continue SOBO, but I had to get back to work in Butte on Monday so I can't give you any first-hand info past Upper Seymour Lake. I hope you have a great time though!<br>
