<div dir="ltr">We started the CDT southbound in 2012 from Chief Mountain right around June 15th, and also did the PCT in 2010 (southbound, though). We found that the snow in Glacier and the Bob was fairly reasonable - we definitely had snow in the high parts, it was manageable with some patient navigation and an ice axe. The bigger problem we experienced was cold, wet (sometimes snowing) storms with very little visibility, making navigation over snow sort of difficult. I think the weather around Glacier is sort of unstable in June, so it's hard to say what you'll get. It's not a bad time to have a nice sturdy shelter though! Good luck and have fun!<div>

I was also planning on startin around June 15th from Chief mtn. Goin to<br>
carry an axe as well as microspikes I reckon. Like you said this was an<br>
average year for Montana so it seems the snow wont be too bad if you are<br>
comfortable with with that sort of thing. I'm a bit more worried about<br>
river crossings in the Bob.<br>
