In fact, at the time I came across my first CDT marker on that Aldie Crk Tr there was about 6- 8 inches of snow on the ground and I mistakenly started to follow it for 15- 20 minutes before I turned around and went back to my GPS route. So I will modify my opinion to, I was very satisfied with the CDTS route and would recommend it to anyone wanting an unique experience. I don't remember any CDT tr markers through the Gila Wilderness, so in following the CDTS I found exactly what I wanted- an unmarked trail all the way from Columbus up to Snowy Lake. I did see a couple of cairns as I was passing along the Three Sisters (English Name) out of Columbus but that was about it.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>Anyone who follows the Gila River route leaves the CD and it happens more than once along the CDT- from what I have seen. Keith<br>in Deming and Lynnea in Mimbres are excellent support. <br><br><br><br>I am not fixated on the CD myself- just looking for an interesting route and<br>the CDTS is it. <br><br><br><br>This is my opinion- Keith is a very good experience. He loves the CDTS and<br>has done a lot to set up water contacts between Deming and Columbus. I told<br>him what he asks for picking up hikers and getting them to Columbus is too<br>little.
