<div>We did venture through the deadfall in July. We knew it was going to be tough but took our time and made it through. An "embrace the brutality" moment. We were heading north so knowing hot showers and warm beds awaited us in Grand Lake made it easier. At the top of the ridge we found a game trail that took us west of the offical "trail" and I think helped us avoid some of the worst of the deadfall. </div>

<div>I think it is time to petetion the Forest Service to clean this up. The sign posted near Lake Granby says they have not because of the danger of falling trees. At this point the few trees standing are the live ones so I don't buy this argument. This would be a great volunteer project for the CDT Coalition. It is near towns, used by lots and lots of people (no just CDT hikers) and is the only connecting trail into RMNP west of the divide.</div>

I had a horrible time getting through it this year. Maybe more trees fell down since you did it or maybe it is just cause I am an old lady.
