You will cross highway 84 at 27_144AP and that is probably the easiest place to hitch to GR. You will not be disappointed by the official route which passes across some beautiful rock mesa country en route to the Chama River Canyon - Skull Bridge (26_14.3, Guthook 685.0, ) on recently constructed trail.
