Addendum to my earlier post:

Greyhound no longer stops in Yreka either, but they do stop in WEED. Stage buses can get you to Weed.

>From there, Greyhound can take you south to Redding (flip north and hike back; the fires should be out by then) or north into Oregon, WA, and/or Canada.

Amtrak can take you from Redding to Seattle, but the schedule is horrible (leave 3:14 am, arrive 11:39 pm) as is the on-time service history. You'll probably want (need) to stay in Seattle and take one of the Amtrak buses to Vancouver BC the next day. There is a only single train, and it leaves Seattle at 7:40 am. Take Greyhound Canada to Manning Park Lodge. Walk less than a mile to the PCT.

Note that Greyhound doesn't stop in Ashland either, only Medford or Klamath Falls. Local bus service to Ashland might be possible, but don't bet on it.
