PCT Hikers!
I talked with management today about whether they were aware that several dozen PCT thruhikers that have been on the trail for months are now approaching the Marble Mountain Wilderness, which they closed to all non-usfs humans on 8/2/2006? and they said "yes" we are aware and we are considering options for accommodating them. So far what I have heard relates to the nobo hikers arriving at Etna Summit. When they get to Etna, they will be hosted by Etna, and can camp in the town park. Transportation is still being figured out on how to get them around the MMW to Seiad Valley. The Stage Bus lines only runs twice a week and is not very convenient for thruhikers. I believe that some enterprising person will set up a bus system for the hikers from Etna to SV at a very reasonable cost while this closer of SecQ remains in place. Hopefully, Siskiyou County will continue to show how great and supportive hosts we have been for years for the PCT hikers that travel thru our grand wildernesses on their own personal adventure.  

I don't know how many sobo hikers are affected..
