Good advice. I would suggest you try to find the 1984
edition of The Complete Walker, as it is the last
edition Fletcher wrote on his own, and has what I
consider more of the Fletcher spirit. His "The Man Who
Walked Through Time" might not be much of a how-to
book, but, again, is solidly filled with the spirit of
backpacking.
