Update on the Skykomish flooding. Dinsmore's place had the raging river right up to the top of their rock bank. Ground water came in the house even with 18 hours of running pumps and mopping up the kitchen floor. The hwy east has been closed for two days due to mud slides and the hwy west has been closed for almost as long with water over the road at Grotto, Index, Sultan and Monroe. Houses on the river have been washed away and hundreds of tall fir trees have been uprooted and washed away. The water level is now going down and the snow is supposed to hit fairly soon. So, things are looking good up here. No swimming lessons needed.
