OD's unusual, even among the long-distance hiking community. Often misunderstood, he has a PhD and an intellect that far surpasses most of the rest of mankind. Possesed of a truly remarkable vocabulary, he's a gifted writer with a penchant for philosophy. 

Those who take the time to engage in serious discourse with him will definitely learn a lot and perhaps gain a new insight into themselves and the world around them.
