[pct-l] JMT transportation options

There used to be backpackers parking lot not to far from Happy Isles. (It 
may be 2 miles - we walked from there when we hiked the JMT.) I am not sure 
if it is still there or if you could catch a bus near there.

There is a parking lot at Whitney Portal you can park in.

Hi all,



We are in the midst of planning our summer 2007 JMT hike, and were
wondering if anyone could suggest good transportation options to and
from trailheads?  We might have friends drive us into Yosemite, but if
they can't, we are hoping to leave a car somewhere near Yosemite, as
well as somewhere near Whitney Portal, and then shuttle.  So, (1) does
anyone know where one can leave cars at either end of the hike, and (2)
how does one get from car to Yosemite Valley, and then Whitney Portal to
car?
