[pct-l] Fire Permits

Hello,

According to the Forest Service website it is necessary to appear in person at a Forest Service 
office, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection office, or Bureau of Land 
Management Office in order to obtain a Campfire Permit. (Needed for using a stove outside of 
campgrounds, not just for actual campfires).

So, my questions are: Where is the first opportunity for someone coming from outside 
California to obtain a permit?  Is only one fire permit needed for the entire trail, or do Oregon 
and Washington have seperate requirements?
