[pct-l] New unsupprted JMT record

DEEMS,
Not so fast.......Switchback, who to the best of my knowledge is a Sr. Citizen, is rumored to be in training
to bring back the unsupported JMT record to the pct-l backpacking community, where it belongs.
His up coming Mt. Whitney expedition is a mere shake down & acclimation hike in preparation for
''The Big One'', the unsupported JMT record.

 HI gang,
Just to let you know that a new unsupported JMT record has been set by ultra
marathon endurance runner Michael Popov.
Michael, 29, finished in an amazing 4 days 5 hrs and 25 minutes.
~~~^^~~^^~^~^~^~^~^
I will only be amazed if Michael can beat Reinhold's record made in his 63rd
yr of life. So Michael, please go run it again in the year 2041, and see if
you can beat Reinhold's 5d7h45m. Yes, there will be some that will be
faster, and the masses will be slower, but few that walk the JMT will have
loved it and given so much of himself to the John Muir Trail as Reinhold.
Though the torch and moment passes on to another, The Legend of Reinhold
will be whispered around Sierran campfires for decades to come . So,
Reinhold, it's now time for you to hike the John Muir Trail, again, just to
enjoy your trail with no more pressure to perform; the record and torch has
been passed, and very gracefully by you. Congratulations to Michael Popov!!
