Welcome back, all you PCT-L junkies,

PCT hikers, and their support people, who plan to arrive at Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge on Friday, 24 Aug. should be aware of a big event.
http://www.hoodtocoast.com/ Hood-to-Coast Relay runners from 20 teams depart Timberline Lodge at 15-minute intervals beginning 08:00 AM and continue until all 1,000 teams have departed by 07:45 PM. On race-day, and probably Thursday the 23rd and Saturday the 25th, the accommodations and services at Timberline will be stressed. 12,000 runners, plus another 1,000 support vehicles and many thousands of supporters, are not allowed at Timberline all at once but, as you can probably imagine, the traffic/parking situation will be awful.

It would be a shame for a thirsty PCT hiker to arrive at Timberline and find the lodge had run out of Ice Axe Beer.
