[pct-l] No camping with 100 feet of PCT & Lakes?

"Anybody know about this regulation? It's in effect in Central  Washington
and the backwoods rangers are ticketing.  Anybody hear about  this rule
being in effect elsewhere?"


FWIW, 2 of the (solo tent) sites that my group used one night last week in
section j (north) were well within 100' of a lake, and likely all were; a
forest ranger hung out with us that night around our, well, non-campfire (we
helped her eliminate fire rings as fires aren't allowed in that area).
Nothing was said about proximity to the lake, and of course we were on
already impacted campsites.

Perhaps this is another reason to switch to my hammock sometime after the
Sierras next year ... !
