Switchback replies: I like the Rain Wrap or rainskit as you call it. I
guess it is just a matter of what blow your skit up (pun intended :-)). I have
used garbage bags on the trail and definitely do not like them. I have used
them as rain jackets with arm/head holes and used them as pack covers. It is
just not for me. I find they work marginally well, but there are better
alternatives. Again, my rain jacket with hood
(_http://www.gossamergear.com/cgi-bin/gossamergear/driducks_rainsuit.html_
(http://www.gossamergear.com/cgi-bin/gossamergear/driducks_rainsuit.html) ) and Rain Wrap
(_http://www.ula-equipment.com/rain_wrap.htm_ (http://www.ula-equipment.com/rain_wrap.htm) ) are
flexible and easy to use. The weight difference between the garbage bags and
these products are well worth the cost to me. Just personal preference. Nothing
more.

When the weather turns bad, I like to know my gear is simple and quick to
use and works great. The garbage bags just don't do it for me. Plus, I think
I look sexier on the trail in the rain than in a garbage bag in the rain.

Cheers, Switchback the Trail Dandy
