Craig, of PCTplanner, has refreshed the link to his scanned copy of the
early 1945 Pacific Crest Trailways guidebook written by Clinton Clarke. If
you love the PCT in all it's forms and routes imagined since it's birth,
take the time to download this book. It's a great historical perspective
and view of the trail, and where the trail and hiker have evolved to the
present.
There were only 500 copies printed in 1945; I have one, and these original
guidebooks are trail library treasures. With thanks to Craig, you can print
and read it for free.
