On May 2nd in '02 it was about 22F on Mt Laguna, complete with heavy
frost/ice.
On May 21st in '02 it was 26F climbing up Acorn Trail out of Wrightwood with
a very stiff wind after snow/heavy freezing fog the night before.

So, March or May, you should be prepared for some cold. The earlier you
leave the more variable spring weather you will have to contend with. What
does Ground Pounder say? Be prepared.

Your message surely signals the unwary, but the intended point of your scary
message is clear: God forbid anyone leaves *before* the KO. ;)

Just the lower 150 miles. It's OK, but I wouldn't want to be on Laguna when
it gets colder. I've only camped up there in late April. Seen some really
nasty freezing cold with high winds in mid April. (Nightime). I've had ice
on my tent at Lake Morena on April 15th.
