Yes, the trout farm was closed. But the facility is still there, and if needed, water and a phone.

Mike, great report !  One thing, the trout farm closed it's doors about 1 year ago.  It is currently under repair and will become a part of the wedlands conservency.  It will be very hiker friendy, unlike the old trout farm.  It will have a large trailhead parking lot , a "walk-in" campground and later this year, a new spur trail to the PCT.  Sometime later this year, they will even be able to except packages !
